Retreat Preview #3

Christmas Party Rescheduled

Due to the weather, our Christmas party has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 8th.  It will still be at Janet's home at 6:30 pm.

Our women's Christmas Party will be tomorrow evening at Janet Bolger's home.  There will be dessert, games, caroling, and a time of sharing our needs with one another.  Come at 6:30 and join the fun!

Advent

The season of Advent is upon us! As Eric reminded us yesterday, these next few weeks are a time for us to focus on longing and preparation for Jesus' second coming with confidence rooted in his first coming.  It's often hard to set aside "focused" time during the holidays, but below are links to a couple of resources that may prove helpful in doing so.  The first is a list of daily scripture readings adapted from The Book of Common Prayer.  The second is daily devotions for the season of Advent.  He will come!  Be ready!

Harvest's Queen of Words

A hand-full of Harvest ladies got together Saturday night for a tournament of word games. Boggle, Upwords, and Take Two were the games of choice. At the end of the evening Dori was crowned "Queen of Words" as she had the highest score of all the players . Here's the queen with her loyal subjects:

Women's Word Game Extravaganza

This Saturday is our Women's Word Game Extravaganza!  Whether you're in the mood to play a friendly game of Scrabble, or wanting to see if you're the Queen of Words, come and join the women of Harvest for a great time.  The fun will take place in the fellowship hall at 6:30 pm, and you're welcome to bring a dessert to share.

New Women's Bible Study

On Wednesday, September 28th, we will be starting a Beth Moore Bible study on Esther.  The meetings will take place at 6:30 pm at the home of Alice Snyder (325 Lookout Ridge, Branson) and will be every other week.  The books are $15. 2012 Women's Retreat Theme Announced

Ladies, get excited, because our upcoming retreat will feature talks on Loving Well by Beth Moore.  Taped at a Living Proof Live event, Beth discusses how some people are a joy to love, some are difficult to love, and how we all deal with some people who are humanly impossible to love. In all of those relationships one truth endures: We will never be able to love others well until we have been loved well. And only God can ultimately give us the complete love we so desperately need.

Our retreat will be Friday, February 3rd, through Sunday, February 5th, and we'll be heading back to Tall Pines Resort (www.tallpinesmo.com).

WTTH 101

Though our 2011 WTTH's are almost done for the year, it seems like a little WTTH education is in order.  Here are some things you might like to know:

1. WTTH stands for Women's Third Tuesday Hangout, which occurs the third Tuesday of each month, January through October. 

2. They are typically at someone's home and begin around 6:30 pm.

3. The activity depends on the hostess.  Sometimes we play games, other times we just sit and chat.  The idea is to provide a laid back atmosphere for the women of Harvest to get to know one another better.   

4.  Most importantly, there is almost always dessert and coffee!

This month, we'll be at Dori Rapinchuk's, and we'd love for you to join us!

Fun was had by all at our monthly get-together last night!  As you can see, women, from age 1 1/2 to, well, older than that came to enjoy good conversation and sweets.  If you've never attended a WTTH, we'd love to have you!  Next month, we'll be at Dori Rapinchuk's.

Our July Women's Third Tuesday Hangout will be at Ann-Victoria's on the 19th at 6:30 pm.  Come whenever you like.  There will be peanut butter pie & cookies!

Spring Salad Supper & Bunco Night

Don't forget tomorrow night is our Spring Salad Supper and Bunco Night! We'd love for you to bring a dessert or salad to share. Drinks and bread will be provided. WTTH at Carissa's

These ladies had a great time last night at the first Women's Third Tuesday Hangout of 2011!  We met at Carissa Lilly's and enjoyed some delicious food as well as a hilarious round of "Questions for Girlfriends".  If you weren't able to make it, mark your calendar for next month's WTTH at Janet Bolger's on April 19th.  We'd love to have you!

WTTH Returns!

March is our kick-off month for the Women's Third Tuesday Hangouts of 2011!  Our first gathering will be at the home of the marvelous Carissa Lilly at 6:30 pm, on March 15th (Tuesday, of course). What does the evening entail, you ask?  Well, you can expect yummy drinks, perhaps a sweet treat, and definitely good laid back company.  So, if you like coffee, tea, water, eating, hanging out with cool ladies, or just getting out of the house, then this is for you.  See ya Tuesday!

Pure Joy 2011 is tomorrow night!  We'd like to sit together as a church, so meet at Harvest at 6:15 pm to carpool (Julie will be there, and Ann-Victoria will be there after work).  If you don't want to carpool, look for us at First Baptist Branson. It's going to be a great night!

Ladies! Pure Joy 2011 is just around the corner on March 4th.  Join women’s speaker and author Suzette Brawner for a message filled with humor, encouragement, and wisdom.  Mark your calendars and invite your friends. We are expecting several hundred ladies from all over the Branson area. This will be held at Branson First Baptist Church, 400 S. Sunshine (corner of 76 and 65) at 7pm.  It’s gonna be a GOOD NIGHT!!!

Also, they would like for us to attend as a church, so plan on meeting at Harvest around 6:15 that evening to carpool. 

Bowling Night

A couple of weeks ago, Harvest Women's Ministry hosted a bowling night at Millinneum Bowling in Reeds Spring.  We had a great time and enjoyed a little friendly competition for highest score, lowest score, and most strikes.  Everyone walked away a winner!
